Conference-style masterclasses on C++, Rust and other programming-related subjects.

Why?

As an employer, you can send your team to a conference, or have your employees watch online videos of conference talks. But what about presenting a live, conference-style talk at your company? The engagement and interactivity level of a live talk is much higher, making it more entertaining and the content stick better.

I can offer such conference-style masterclass sessions. All my sessions are well-prepared, well-informed, in-depth and accessible to all levels of experience. I’m always focused on trying to make complex subjects understandable, while keeping the content interesting for everyone.

Check out the topics that I have to offer on the main page (under ‘Masterclasses’). Most sessions take around 75 minutes (excluding questions), but as most things, we can customize the duration. Many of the sessions have an optional, accompanying workshop available (see ‘Workshops’).

At the time of writing, I have presented the masterclasses to over a 1000 developers already!

Details

A masterclass can be on-site, or online, depending on your preferences. I can present the session in English or Dutch (slide content is always English).

After the masterclass, I will hand-out a digital version of the slides as presented, as well as a detailed list of resources for further studying.

Half- or full-day training sessions on C++, Rust and other programming-related topics.

Why?

As an employer, you want your employees to be up-to-date with the knowledge of their tools. Day-to-day experience and development on-the-job is fine, but to really boost knowledge levels, studying is required. Increase the professional development, productivity and joy of work by offering a training program.

For a more thorough approach on one or more subjects, I can provide training sessions. With many years of experience as a software engineer and speaker, I can offer high-quality, in-depth training on subjects within C++ or Rust.

Details

My training sessions are set up as extensions or combinations of the topics of the masterclasses (see main page). However, we can always discussion options for presenting training on other topics – don’t hesitate to reach out to me. Training sessions are approximately 60% theory, 40% hands-on exercises, but this may vary depending on the topic.

Training sessions are half-day (3.5 hours) or full-day (7 hours), but again, this can be customized. Training can be presented in Dutch or English (slide content is always English).

During the training session, I will provide the participants with the slides, exercise/solution code and a detailed list of resources for further studying.

Hands-on workshops bundled with a masterclass. Apply the theory in practice!

Why?

For many of the masterclasses I offer, a workshop is available. In such a workshop we will get hands-on with the subjects from the masterclass. In effect, the content of the oral session will be brought to a deeper understanding. Also, next to being entertaining, there is more room for questions in an interactive setting.

Details

A single workshop features about four practical exercises, often each divided in sub-exercises. The duration of a workshop is 90 to 120 minutes.

Like the masterclasses themselves, a workshop can be presented onsite or online. Presentation can be done in Dutch or English (slide content is always English).

During the workshop participants will have access to the exercise code, as well as the solutions (if desired). At the end of the workshop, I will provide you with the workshop slides, exercise/solution code.
